I have a confession about myself that I don't think evenscribefigaroknows about.  One of my greatest pleasures in life is crushing dead leaves under my shoes.  I love that delightful crunch.  I squeal when I leave a pile of obliterated leaf particles in my wake.  It's like popping bubble wrap.  It is an obsession.  It is also why I love autumn so much.

Well, today I saw a  nice crispy leaf while out walking my dog.  I got very excited.  I lunged for it.  It turned out it was perched precariously on the very edge of the sidewalk, disguising the few inches of drop-off to the ground.  So as I attempted to crunch the leaf, I turned my ankle (only slightly) and fell into the wrought iron fence and banged my knee.  :(

Ow.

I'm sure there's a lesson there somewhere.
