I was having a really good day today.

It started a little dodgy with public transportation throwing a tantrum, but I still made it to school okay.

Then my first lecture to my new Research Methods class rocked!  I knocked it out of the park!

Research group meeting went well.  Then my individual meeting with my advisor has me on track to graduate hopefully within the next year.

Then I spoke briefly to our new students at the orientation.

Then at the roundtable meeting, I was voted the new department faculty liaison and it was decided that I would continue to be the representative for our department at the Graduate Student Council.  (These both constitute a couple of extra boring meetings a month, but it looks great on the CV.)

So it was a good, productive day.

Then a random stranger from the building next door yelled at me for leaving the outside gate open.  I had left it open for a guy inside to leave without having to try and work the busted doorknob, but he got hung up and didn't exit right away.  So I got yelled at.

Nothing ruins my day faster than random strangers yelling at me.  :(
