This makes me feel a little ill:  I'd like to know what in this guy's history made him think that this was even remotely acceptable behavior.

I've been getting up an hour earlier two mornings a week to go to the gym and it's exhausting.  But the gym gets so packed in the evening that there aren't many treadmills available.  I've found myself in the totally surreal experience of vying for a treadmill, like, "No, let me be the hamster on the wheel, running and running and not going anywhere because I saw it first."  I mean, I feel that way anyway, but at least when I go in on weekday mornings I'm not fighting for the privilege to feel completely ridiculous.

0-3 minutes: 6.5 mph.
3-7 minutes: 7.0
7-12 minutes: 7.5
12-16 minutes: 8.0
16-18 minutes: 8.5
18-19 minutes 9.0
19-21 minutes: I stand on the outsides and have a slight rest as I gradually knock the mph down to 6.1 so I can do it all over again.
21-24 minutes: 6.1
24-28 minutes: 6.6
28-33 minutes: 7.1
33-37 minutes: 7.6
37-38 minutes: 8.1
38-39 minutes: 8.6
39-40 minutes: 9.1.
40-45 minutes: cool down.

I do this about 4 times a week (with one day for yoga, one day for soccer, and one day off).  Running on a treadmill is very boring. I have to at least have something to work towards and it's pressing buttons and making the numbers move. But it seems that I average around a little less than an 8 1/2 minute mile, which is fine, I guess.  I just wish I actually liked running more.

Now it's just a matter of  summoning enough energy to actually get through my day.
