starzkiI'm trying to psyche myself up for
the drive tomorrow. Dad is threatening to leave at 4 AM.
I'm so totally calling his bluff. Even if he's serious, it means
that we get home by 9 PM. Packing's done for the most part.
I'll remember whatever it is I'm forgetting just as we're leaving
tomorrow. Whatever.
It's getting harder and harder to look forward to going home. Right now, the only positive thing I can say about it is "At least it will be warmer." I should stop being so negative. J will be home, too. We'll be able to commiserate on the crap we're going through.
I am reading an excellent book. It's Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale. I'm on page 70 and I'm in love with almost every sentence. It's reminding me of Orwell's 1984, only from a woman's perspective. I've only just started it, but I highly recommend it so far.
I also finished a pair of Koontz books, Winter Moon and Frankenstein: Book One. I did not like Winter Moon. It was too cynical and judgmental. Frankenstein was good and I'll probably be into any of the sequels I can get my hands on.
My mom also has hinted that she's getting me some more Vonnegut for Christmas. Because one can never have too much Vonnegut. The man is a national treasure.
