Friday mornings are kind of rough.

I woke up with a pounding headache and just with general aches and pains all through the rest of me.  It's the Thursday night soccer that my body is rebelling against.  It's getting to be time to stop playing coed.  It's getting to be that I can't hold my own.  I don't know if I ever really could, but I used to be better at recovering the next day.  While I doubt that I've ever been described as "little," I also don't think I've ever been described as "big."  Me versus your average guy soccer player and I'm the one who gets knocked down, slammed into the wall, etc.  I didn't have soccer last Thursday and my bruises had just faded by yesterday.  Now I have all new bruises.  And we lost anyway.  :(

The headache is a result of deflecting half a dozen shots on goal with my head.  One of them hit wrong and I saw stars.  Today, I'm having problems staying on a train of thought, but that's probably the result of a lot of things, not just blows to the head.

The problem is that I like playing coed.  The level of play is different.  The guys on my team are great people and it's been really good for my social life.  I have all of these wonderful reasons to keep playing.  But I still wake up on Friday mornings feeling like I've been in a fight the previous night because I'm so beat up.  I really have to rethink whether or not this is a good idea.
