You just never know

I talked to my mom yesterday.  She asked me if I remembered Skylar who worked at the hospital.

Me: Sure!  He's great!  I babysat for his kids (one of whom is named Starsky!).  They were the best kids I've ever sat for, ever!  As part of the payment for baby sitting, he gave me that sensitive briar plant that recoiled when it was touched.  Really neat.  Also, when I started working at the hospital, he took a dollar, folded it into a ring, and fake-proposed to me.  We worked in the same area of the hospital for a few weeks and it was always really fun!

Mom:  I saw him on the news last night.  They showed his mug shot and reported that he's been indicted on aggravated sexual assault of a minor.  Nine counts.  He's looking at 99 years.

Holy shit!

Apparently, I am the worst judge of character, ever.  And this, I guess, wasn't even counting the charges of perjury and malicious prosecution he was facing as a District Attorney.  (That was his next job after working in the lab.)

The dude was insanely charming.  I never would have thought it.

This is troubling news.  :(
