No couch = interesting days

So the couch thing turned into a bit of a SNAFU, as I was half-way expecting.  So the dad was in town to help me move the old couch out so that I might have room for the new couch that was to be delivered today.  I called to get a more specific time frame to expect said couch and the response was, "We'll be there at...  Oh...  Oh no..."

Great.

So no couch until next Thursday.  :(

So to best utilize time with Dad while he's here, we bought me a new window unit.  Now my two windows both have ugly, noisy things poking out of them.  But they are making me oh so cool and the puppy is happy now, which makes it all worth it.

And because there is no couch today, I got to keep my dentist appointment and go into work.  On my way into the building, I got snagged into a photo shoot!  I have no idea what it's for, but it did involve me signing a waiver.  And waist-up nudity.

Kidding.

But from what I could gather, it was specifically of one guy and I was just supposed to sit there and talk to him and pretend that we were friends having an interesting conversation.  Of course I'm not wearing make-up today, was dreadfully sweaty from being outside for 30 seconds, and wearing sloppy clothes that are loose and comfortable.  I think I just screamed "STUDENT," which was what they were going for.

So I might not have my new couch just yet, but I have had a very interesting day.

Oh Technology, how I adore and despise thee.

My new AC window unit keeps tripping the breaker!

And it's too late at night to call the building people to come fix it.

It wouldn't be so bad, but my television and DVR are on the same circuit, so what I want to record tonight might be fucked electronically.

Damn!
