Okay. I think I've teased my readers long enough. This is the chapter where my favorite teenagers start getting busy.
This is also the chapter I start flirting with crossing ff.net's TOS agreement. Although I think I managed to keep it from being very explicit and too, well, dirty. So I do think that I'm on the safe side of the line. For this chapter, anyway. Next chapter, on the other hand... Well, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
I liked having this chapter from Sousuke's perspective (as I'm going to like the next chapter with Kaname's perspective). Giving someone pleasure for the first time is kind of an awesome experience that a lot of writers miss because of the focus on the character receiving the pleasure. While that's totally cool (and awesome, and wonderful, etc.), too, I wanted to explore what Sousuke might be thinking and feeling in these moments. I imagine it's actually something like, "ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod," but I think I might have gotten pretty close with what I wrote.
The only actual trouble I had with this chapter was naming the thing. I want each chapter to be the overarching feeling that character is overwhelmed with and there just isn't a good word for what Sousuke might be feeling. I tried things like "Inexperience," "Novelty," "Bewilderment," and others, but none of them were right. I wanted to try to capture that feeling of flying by the seat of your pants into a wonderful new experience, but I failed. So I just called this chapter "New Experience" because that kind of is what Sousuke is overwhelmed with. So. There.

Date: 2012-11-05 02:22 am (UTC)As for the level of acceptable heat at FF.net...I have a couple of what I'd consider to be full-fledged sex scenes posted there, which went unharmed during the mass deletion. I think it depends on what level of detail you get into - the stories I dared post there are kinda heady, if that makes sense? More cerebral, less nuts and bolts. IDK.
This chapter was a nice even mix, I thought - enough thought/backstory to keep it from being straight-up porn. I'm not sure where you intend to go from here, but I'm certainly looking forward to it, LOL! :P
