enough is enough
Sep. 11th, 2005 02:00 pmWhen I started crying on the phone to my mother this morning, I figured
something had to be done about this insomnia shit that's going
on. When I've slept through the night only once in the last 4
weeks at least, something is wrong. I'm calling the doctor
tomorrow.
Ugh, I don't feel well. It's a combination of lack of sleep and my tummy ache. :-(
And I almost dehydrated and suffered heat stroke on the walk to and from Borders this afternoon. The heat has got to stop, too. It probably will. Right as I'm traveling down South, knowing my luck. But I think I managed to find a Grandma-friendly audio book for the drive. I got Everything is Illuminated. Just knowing that my grandmother is going to be there just stirs the devil in me. Suddenly, I wanted to get anything by David Sedaris (even though I have all of his books and have read them all at least 3 times) or maybe something by Al Sharpton or (God forbid) Jesse Jackson. Heh. Maybe I'll tell her that's what I got. The last book on tape we listened to together on the ride back home was Wuthering Heights. That book was terrible! That was no romance, I don't care who you are. Everyone in it was either a terrible human being or had something terrible done to them by these terrible human beings. I didn't like a single character. So I hope I picked better this time. I wanted to get Stephen King's The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon because I've read it before and it's spectacular and grandma-friendly, but they didn't have it and wouldn't for 2 weeks. We leave in a week and a half.
I also bought a new book. It's okay because I had a 20% off coupon. I got Devil in the White City because a) I *heartheartheartheartheartheart* Chicago and b) I've heard it's really good. I'll start reading that tomorrow.
Ow. Stomach hurts. Want to sleep but stomach hurts too much to nap. Urp.
