How not to respond to reviews
Mar. 30th, 2011 12:26 pmWanking takes place not only with fanfiction authors.
This has been making the rounds.
I read it and found it hilarious at first. But now it's kind of sad. It's being witness to a writer's potential career going up in flames. Granted, Jaqueline Howett is just reaping what she sowed and she deserves to bear the consequences of her ill-advised actions, but yikes! Also, in terms of flame wars, Ms. Howett has nothing on some fanfiction authors. You all know who I'm talking about. But there is a difference in that Ms. Howett is charging her readers to download her stories.
I'm under the radar enough with fanfiction that I tend not to get flamed very much. And even when someone shares with me that they disagree with the way I've portrayed a character or steered a story, I just figure it's a difference of opinion and that my opinion is right (for me). Any actual flames I get are great for laughs, but I've only had one or two of those.
