starzkiUgh. I'm so ready to be moved out of this house. As soon as either one of us gets a job, even if it's not starting for months, we're out of here.
Anyhoo, on with the show!
Day 03 - A pairing that needs to happen now.
My answer to this is that Fullmetal Alchemist's Roy/Riza needs to happen now!
(Heh, the expressions above just make me chuckle.)
I don't think that I've seen or read anything that makes the mutual love and respect between two people so obvious that didn't end up with them having a romantic relationship. The feelings between Roy and Riza are so deep and profound that neither really feels the need to say anything about them. This is frustrating to romance-aholics who desperately want to hear confessions of luuuurve and see a whole bunch of making out, but it has its own subtle beauty, too.
Roy and Riza know each other. Just from personal experience, I can't even begin to say how beautiful it is for someone who knows you, knows all of the good and the bad and the funny and the serious and just everything, who also wants to be around you all day. That's what we have here. When these two look at one another, they see their future. Without each other, they get lost.
I love that there can be so much unsaid between to characters with so much personal history. I love that that the basis for their relationship is abiding respect and trust. I love that they seem to pretty much accept that they're in love, but they're willing to wait a bit until they can straighten out their consciences and their country before they submit to the happiness the other could provide.
I love it, but I want to see some making out, dammit.
