Fic Meme! Stolen from
psyco_chick32 and
aamalie:
1. Which is your favourite fic?
I loved that I found a voice for Sousuke in Ice and Fire. For IY, I love the simplicity of Her Reasons, but my favorite IY fic is probably To Be Proud. I liked the perspective and the whole style of the story and was quite happy with the result.
2. Which is your best-received fic?
In Vino Veritas, without a doubt. Lots of people also like Groping, which is a surprise because I feel like I wrote that one flying from the seat of my pants. I had no plan for that story and I just wrote.
3. Which is your worst-received fic?
Endless Sleep, my current Sandman/IY crossover. Oy.
4. Which is your angsty-est fic?
My Cowboy Bebop ficlet The Witness. The less said about my foray into the CB fandom, the better.
5. Which is your funniest fic?
For Full Metal Panic, it's a tie between What a Lovely Way to Burn and Sleepover. For IY, I'd say In Vino Veritas or Discomfort. When writing these, I've been told I was cackling.
6. Smuttiest?
For FMP, I wrote an actual lemon called The Supply Closet. The Kaname/Sousuke pairing just inspires writing smut, because a good half of the stories I've written for them have them going at it. For IY, either Evensong or About an Inch, but those were a tad more subtle, I think.
7. Fluffiest?
What You Wish For. I foresaw Miroku and Sango having multiples and domestic bliss.
8. Have you ever made someone cry with a fic?
A reviewer told me that To Be Proud moved her to tears.
9. Which fic frustrates you the most?
Right now, my Sandman crossover fic is NOT COOPERATING with me! I wake up full of ideas for the dialogue, and they just die in front of me as I try to write them. GRRRR!
10. Which fic was the most fun to write?
Without a doubt, the most fun to write was Remotely Plausible. I just loved (and still do, in fact) the idea of an X-Files inspired Inuyasha fic. And it worked out so splendidly that it's one of my favorites to date.
11. Who is your favourite OC you've ever created?
My hypothetical casual observer in Discomfort. It is because of that hypothetical character that what was going to be an angst-filled trapped-in-a-tight-spot fic turned into a comedy. For the better, too. The voice of that fic was tough to nail, but all I had to do was come back to the hypothetical casual observer to get back in the flow. Geez, I have so many favorite fics.
12. Are you better at oneshot or multipart?
Heh. I only really have the attention span to do good one-shots. My multiparts lose power as they go along.
13. Which character do you think you're the best at portraying?
I think I'm good at Sango. I get her. She's proud and sad and falling in love. She's always been highly active and in control, but finds herself off-balance, usually because of Miroku's antics. This intrigues her and frustrates her at the same time. I think I do okay with Miroku, too. Once I figured out he was actually a pretty decent guy who's really very smart (in most ways), I got a handle on his voice.
In Full Metal Panic, I think I do okay with both Sousuke and Kaname. He's tricky because he's not a deep thinker and I tend to write much more flower-y than appropriate for his style. Kaname, on the other hand, is complicated, but also quick to show her negative emotions. But once you get that Sousuke is all about self-control and Kaname hides her vulnerabilities behind violence, it's easy to get in their heads.
14. Which character is the most difficult for you to portray?
Inuyasha. Just, I really can't. I also don't have a good handle on Kagome.
And I'm finding Morpheus (the Dream King) to be hell to write for.
15. Tag five other authors!
Nah.
