My lifeforce has been drained...

starzkiInteresting point of today:
Two professors were talking in an office near mine and I hear my name. It turns out my work was brought up in a philosophical discussion about the nature of research and how what I am doing/am planning to do is a positive thing that will help change the face of social science into something better. It was cool.
Boring points of today:
My day was drowned in meetings. First I had the Roundtable meeting where only four of us showed up. But that was cool because we just went ahead and planned the next two months of the semester on our own.
Finally, there was the faculty meeting. *dies* It was an hour and a half of discussion about votes and by-laws and committees and curriculum changes. But at one point, they forgot I was in the room and started bad-mouthing students. That got a little interesting. But then it was back to the impossible grind of getting 12 adults to agree on appropriate courses of action.
I don't know why I volunteer for some of this stuff.
