The reviews are in!
Aug. 9th, 2006 07:10 pmI got my teaching evaluations back. It turns out I am beloved by my students.
Excellent.
Actually, it appears that two of them didn't like me at all. But other than them, very nice evaluations (that I have called "reviews" more than once out loud).
On the 32 questions asking about the class in general where students answered from 1 (very poor) to 5 (excellent), all of my averages are above 4. Highest was "Examinations/graded materials were returned in a timely manner," followed by "Instructor was adequately accessible to students during office hours or after class."
So that totally made my whole week.
The feeling lasted for all of 2 hours before the furniture company called and said they're NOT coming tomorrow.
*sob*
I've spent the last 2 hours on the phone yelling and crying and basically swearing at the customer service people. I think I've managed to track down a sofa (though not the one I wanted) and will have it tomorrow or Friday.
Motherfuckers.

I even got people to write in evaluations.
The good: "Thank you for making this horrible class fun! You are by far one of the most talented and fun professors I have had". (I actually had a few of these. Yay!)
The bad: "Explanations are VERY unclear." (But I suspect this is sour grapes for the suspected bad grade. And this was the only flame.)
The truth: "Her explanations and teachings were not well prepared and often had to take back what she said, then try to re-explain." (However, this only happened twice. But it did happen, so I can see that it could have been confusing.)
