My upstairs neighbor is a partier.  I knew this from the first day she moved in almost a year ago.  I liked her better than my old upstairs neighbor because the new neighbor and her loud sex and coming home in the wee hours only happened once or twice a month compared to the 5AM stomping that happened every morning with the old one.

However, any time I lose more than 30 minutes of sleep is going to generate some of the old hateful feelings.  Last night/this morning at 4:30 (after the late night bars closed), my upstairs neighbor comes home from partying with at least 2 of her friends.  This happens every once and a while.  I can't get too mad because I've done it myself.  It usually quiets down after about 15 minutes, so I wasn't too put out by the noise of half a dozen pacing boots over my head.  Unfortunately, it sounds like my upstairs neighbor is an argumentative drunk.  She proceeded to yell quite loudly and for a long time at the people she was with.

After about an hour (at 5:30AM), I got frustrated enough to dig out a pair of earplugs.  This muffled the yelling, but not the stomping around, which continued for another hour (it's now 6:30AM and the sun is up).  This is when I start hitting the wall above my bed that will hopefully signal to those above me to shut the fuck up.

I was partially successful because this is when the stomping stopped and the sex started.  It wasn't too loud, so I was able to fall back asleep.  Hooray!  But it wasn't over.  7:30AM, something wakes me up and I hear that they are still at it.  Jerks.  I plotted revenge.

An hour later, my alarm clock went off, signaling that despite my two lost hours of sleep, it was time for me to hit the gym.  Of course, by this time, everything upstairs had settled down and I assumed they were sleeping.  So, on my way out the door to get to the gym, I rang their buzzer.

That's right.  Oh yes.  I did it.  And I'm not sorry.

At the gym, I discovered that I've lost 7 pounds since January.  As this stomach bug lingers on, I have to wonder how much weight is "too much" to lose.
