RIP computer
Mar. 31st, 2006 02:15 pmI'm oddly proud of my computer's ability to be so broken. Yesterday, talking to the tech guy who was to come over and help me fix it, he was all full of knowledge and bravado with his, "I'll be in and out in less than an hour. Yadda yadda yadda." So, today, two hours after showing up, he was still struggling.
So it wasn't just my lack of computer knowledge that screwed things up. It's that my computer is actually broken. Irreparably, it seems.
Now it looks as though I'm in the market for a new computer. This is terrific because I have all of this money just lying around, taking up space. I mean, I can barely get from one end of my apartment to the other with all of my gold bullion and stacks of hundred dollar bills and all. Honestly, I have to keep it in the apartment because the banks refuse to hold it all, afraid that it will make them too tasty a target for bank robbers. They refuse to take out the extra insurance coverage, so I have to house and care for all of it myself. But at least now I have something to spend it on!
It's also fantastic that now that I have all this extra time, I can actually afford to sit around and wait for a new computer and find a way to transfer all of my documents and files from one hard drive to the other. I mean, I have honestly been bored stiff lately, doing nothing but sleeping and eating and watching television. Thank God I have this computer stuff to occupy my attention or else I might have gone insane with the lack of work and responsibility that I have going on right now. Phew, this is such a relief.
