... and I'm spent
Jun. 15th, 2005 07:29 pmSo tired.
I actually got some work done today. I made my two tables for my article. I don't know why, but tables are hard. They always look like they should take 15 minutes to make, especially if I already have all the data, but they always take me about two hours. Each.
But half way through, as I'm cursing my AutoFormatting and on the brink of giving up, my fantastic-advisor-who-I-hope-to-emulate-in-every-way called and thanked me for all the hard work I was putting in. So I kept at it and now the tables are done. And they're beautiful.
I thought a run would help perk me up after work. It's only made me more exhausted.
Eating might help, but I can't afford food until tomorrow.
Being poor totally sucks, but if it comes down to cable or groceries, cable is going to win every time.
So I'm eagerly anticipating the new show "30 Days" by the "Supersize Me" guy, Morgan Spurlock. Ironically, the show tonight is about living poor. Based on Barbara Ehrenreich's Nickeled and Dimed. I'll be watching hungry.
I shouldn't complain. I'm only part time. I could get another job, but then I would have no time to spend any of the money I'd be making. Like my mom says, "You makes your choices and you pays your prices."
I should be working. I should be writing.
