starzkiI got a nastygram in the mail yesterday from our apartment complex. Apparently, we're not allowed to have a satellite unless we pay $25 a year (plus jump through a few other hoops) and they're just telling us now.
When I went in to pay (and show renters insurance?), I asked why they charge $25 a year. I was told that the apartment complex owner sees satellite as a non-necessity in need of approval. And to get approved, it costs $25 a year. In other words, "This is another way we can get money from you."
I really look forward to the day we no longer rent (though I know ownership has its own issues). I do have a feeling we'll be so excited that we get to decide what to do with our house it will look something like this:
