This Christmas, when asked what  I wanted from my parents, I could only think of one thing.  I wanted a gift certificate to a nice spa.  The stress of not having an actual career, doing an exhausting job search, living at home, and not knowing what the future holds has been building up over the months.  I just wanted some time to be pampered and hopefully take the stress level down a notch or two.

Because my family is awesome, I got a nice gift certificate to a spa in the nearby city.  I called up yesterday and booked a 2 hour massage for this weekend.  It's completely hedonistic of me.

And I haven't stopped feeling guilty about it since.

It's a lovely reward for a person who hasn't really done anything.  I'm trying.  I'm trying really, really hard.  But I still don't have much to show for it.  I know a lot of it is out of my control, but that doesn't change the fact that I feel bad for my lack of success.

Basically, I've done nothing to deserve the pampering and I shouldn't have asked for it in the first place.  Those are my feelings.

Day 06 - The best kiss?

I will admit, this question was one of the harder questions for me on this meme.  When I wrote this out before-hand, I've crossed a few things out because they didn't really fit the bill of "best kiss."

First of all, in my anime series, there is a woeful lack of smooches.  Really, the only payoff I've gotten was the Miroku/Sango kiss in Inuyasha, but Miroku was unconscious and Sango was upset.  Not really what I have in mind for my favorite characters kissing.  And Full Metal Panic! and Fullmetal Alchemist are stingy with the kisses from my OTP's. 

So that brings me to live television and the fandoms I like there.  There are a slew of Mulder/Scully kisses on X-Files, but none of them that I would call "best."  They had an almost-kiss in the movie that would have been awesome, but a goddamned bee carrying an alien virus stung Scully at the last second, so no smoochies for starzki . *pout*  Their first kiss came in a kind of AU where an unconscious Mulder (there's another theme!) dreams (or does he time travel?) about kissing a Scully from another time period.  They kiss and then she halls off and punches him in the jaw!  It was awesome!  But it was so poorly lit that I really can't call it "best."  Also, it wasn't really Scully. Their first real kiss was a New Years smooch that didn't raise my temperature even a little.  And while subsequent kisses have been okay, I still don't consider them "best."

So moving on, I had to consider fandoms that I'm not all that obsessed over (as in, have not considered writing fanfic for).  So this kind of sucks.  I've not had the "WOO-HOO THEY'RE KISSING" moment in them.  However, searching my memory of ships I actually do like that have ultimately paid off in a kiss, I'm left with one real contender for "best kiss."  This was a kiss so steamy and long-awaited that my jaw dropped open a bit.

Let me share.  My best kiss vote goes to House/Cuddy of House:

These two have great chemistry and both actors can perform a kiss to get the blood pumping!  Holy moly!

I've actually shipped these two from the beginning and it has been great to see them actually trying to have a relationship.
