The big dog is still sick.  He's got a vet appointment, so hopefully they'll fix him right up.  Poor guy.

The little dog, though, is just a shithead.  An adorable, cuddly shithead, but a shithead nonetheless.

Case in point:  Because the big dog gets off-leash privileges due to his illness, the little dog was green with envy.  Finally, we get to the point in our walk where both dogs can be off leash (a large meadow abutting the back of some apartment buildings) and the little one is just ready to sprint.

There were some workers repairing the fences at the back of the apartment buildings, but the big dog doesn't care about people he doesn't know and the little dog is afraid of large men, so I figured it would be okay to let them off.  What I didn't realize was that one of the workers had left his sweatshirt under a tree.  As soon as he was off the leash, the little dog bee-lined it for this sweatshirt.  Horrified at what I knew was about to happen, I start running and screaming, "Noooooooooooo!"

Too late.  The puppy proceeded to look over his shoulder at me, giving me a "what are you going on about" look as he lifted his leg and peed all over the guy's sweatshirt.

I was mortified.  The guy was cool though.  I offered to take it home and wash it and get it back to him tomorrow.  He said it was all right and it was his fault for leaving it on the ground.  That was nice of him, but I still felt awful.  The little dog, on the other hand, was cavorting in the meadow without the smallest twinge of remorse for his actions.

Ugh.  So embarrassing.
