try this again
Aug. 7th, 2005 05:48 pmI was kind of mean in the original entry, so I'll do this again. At the party last night:
I found myself in a conversation with the husbands who were physics/mathmatics/computer programming experts. Why? I just like talking about math. I really couldn't hold up my end of the conversation and thank goodness I managed to keep quiet. The conversation began to cover outsourced (to other countries) software programming that didn't follow English conventions of spacing, paragraphs, or indentation and how annoying that can be. I almost, almost jumped in with, "Oh, I know. When I read fanfictions by kids who ignore the fundamental rules of grammar..."
But I didn't.
These people already consider me too young because I'm on the other side of 30 than they are. If I started going on about how I'm not only into watching "cartoons" but also in reading/writing my own takes on them, I don't think they would consider that a sign of maturity.
