I guess I missed the wank, or else it was behind closed doors. But I agree that the changes will probably be positive. I also like having more than one prompt for the month. I don't know about the extended word limit though! I'm too verbose and having the low limit has really improved my writing. But I guess it's up to me if I want to work to get a shorter drabble.
